We understand how difficult it can be to leave your pet, whether it’s for a long weekend or an extended vacation. After all, he or she is a beloved family member that should be treated with extra special care. That’s why, at Petchester Veterinary, we offer a unique medical boarding experience. We have limited space for boarders and can only house a small number of animals at a time to ensure that your pet will receive more individualized medical attention. However, due to our restricted capacity for boarders, please call to inquire about availability well in advance.

Types of Boarders and Boarding Requirements
Since we are a veterinary hospital, we do try and give priority to our existing patients primarily those with medical conditions that need specialized veterinary care. We only have room for a very limited number of boarders so you should call to inquire about availability well in advance. All dogs and cats must have had a complete physical examination at our hospital within the last 2 years. Dogs must be current on their rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. They also need to have had a negative fecal test in the last 6 months. Cats must be current on their rabies and FVRCP and FeLV vaccines. They must also have had a negative fecal test within the last year. We kindly request that all dogs and cats also be on flea/tick preventive for everyone’s protection. Boarding Facilities
For canines, we offer several different sized kennels as well as multiple full-size runs. Whether you have a Chihuahua or a Great Dane, we will ensure your dog is comfortable. Because we are in a more urban setting in Eastchester, NY, dogs are walked on a leash at least three times a day. This means dogs are guaranteed to get exercise, as opposed to being relegated to a fenced-in area like many dog boarding facilities do. For cats, we have a quiet, dedicated cat room equipped with comfortable bi-level condominiums which keep litterbox and resting areas separate. To schedule medical boarding, please contact us.
Medical and Hygienic Baths
While you’re away, it’s a perfect time to catch your pet up on any necessary veterinary care. From annual vaccinations and dental cleanings to nail trims and pet baths. This way, your pet will return home healthy and clean.
We offer various hygienic and medical pet bathing services. Bathing dogs and cats can be necessary for skin disorders, ectoparasite elimination, or for hygienic purposes which all require different types of treatments. Please provide a complete history of your pet so that the most suitable treatment can be chosen.
