ABOUT PETCHESTER VETERINARY

“Any glimpse into the life of an animal quickens our own and makes it so much the larger and better in every way”  ~John Muir

A Family Practice in a Family Neighborhood

Petchester Veterinary is owned and managed by two, family-oriented veterinarians who have treated pets in Westchester County, New York for over thirty years. We believe in the concept of the “return of the family, general practitioner” -- where your veterinarian will know you and your pet by name, will intimately know your pet’s medical history, and will follow and monitor your pet’s health throughout his/her lifetime. Furthermore, we will provide your pet with individualized care according to your specific needs. We cater to all kinds of animals and to all kinds of people.  We offer a warm and hospitable atmosphere and consider all our pet patients and human clients as part of our extended family. We believe that relationships matter and that they are the first step to practicing good medicine.

Our Hospital

Petchester Veterinary opened its modern, state-of-the-art, full-service, veterinary hospital in December of 2013. It is a veterinarian-owned and veterinarian-managed practice founded by two seasoned doctors, Dr. Lester Sills and Dr. Zsach Ben Adi. They have had the privilege of serving pet lovers in Westchester County, New York for more than 30 years and have combined clinical experience of over 55 years. Petchester Veterinary is centrally located in Eastchester, New York for easy access from most Southern Westchester communities including Yonkers, Tuckahoe, Crestwood, Bronxville, New Rochelle, Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Pelham, Scarsdale, Hartsdale, Edgemont, White Plains, and The Hudson Rivertowns (Hastings on Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Irvington, Ardsley, Tarrytown). The hospital is completely handicap accessible adhering to ADA guidelines which facilitates the visits of both disabled pets and/or their owners. Our 4500 sq. ft. veterinary hospital is fully equipped with an in-house complete pet pharmacy, veterinary ultrasonography, digital radiography, full-service diagnostic laboratory, and a modern surgical suite. Our surgical facilities contain the latest in advanced veterinary monitoring equipment such as gas anesthetic machines, blood pressure monitoring, pulse oximeters, EKG, and infusion pumps. In addition, we have dedicated areas for medical pet boarding and grooming. Take a tour of our hospital.

Our Veterinarians and Staff

At Petchester Veterinary, we care for a wide array of pet species—everything from dogs and cats to birds, reptiles, and small mammals such as ferrets, rabbits, and rodents. Our veterinarians are highly trained in all areas of veterinary internal medicine and surgery and have extensive experience providing everything from urgent/emergency veterinary care to geriatric/senior pet care. The founding veterinarians have combined experience of more than five decades. The benefits of having an experienced veterinary staff should not be underestimated. This is not only important in properly diagnosing disease in a timely and efficient manner, but also in a cost-conscious way. Our veterinarians and veterinary technical staff regularly attend ongoing continuing education and training throughout the year to ensure that we can offer the most updated and advanced medical care. It is just one of the ways we make sure your pet receives the quality care he or she deserves. In addition, our veterinary support staff includes licensed and experienced veterinary technicians who are trained in technical skills such as venipuncture, laboratory diagnostics, animal dentistry, anesthetic monitoring, and surgical assistance. They also help ensure the safety and comfort of your pet by monitoring pain and safety protocols. Your pet’s health and comfort will always come first with us.
